Customizable hero
The hero section is the cornerstone of any editorial website, and Gazet provides exceptional flexibility to showcase what's most important to you. Gazet's hero section can be configured to display either featured stories or your most recent posts.
In addition you can control the layout, displaying a fixed number of posts, or use the dynamic layout that automatically adapts the hero based on the number of available posts (1-6 posts), and never worry about empty spaces or awkward arrangements — Gazet handles the presentation while you focus on your content.

Custom actions
Add a professional call-to-action section to your homepage that guides readers to your most important destinations. The section uses the built-in product card to display your actions. It's perfect for promoting newsletter signups, premium content, mobile apps, or directing readers to key resources.

Members-only content
The members-only section displays a curated selection of membership-restricted posts in a horizontal slider format on your homepage. This section is perfect for showcasing premium content and encouraging visitors to become members.
You can control which posts appear in this section through the Members posts filter setting in Settings > Design > Theme:
- All members (default) — Shows all membership-restricted posts
- Free members only — Shows posts available to free members only
- Paid members only — Shows posts available to paid members only
- None — Hides the section completely

Topic sections
Topic sections allow you to organize and showcase content by specific themes or categories on your homepage. Each topic section displays posts from a particular tag, making it easy for readers to discover content that interests them.
You can control the layout of topic sections through the Topic section layout setting in Settings > Design > Theme:
- Grid with 5 posts — Displays 5 posts in a grid layout
- Grid with 8 posts — Displays 8 posts in a grid layout
- Description and 5 posts — Displays a description and 5 posts in a grid layout
- Column with 5 posts — Displays 5 posts in a column layout, with up to 3 columns

Podcasts
The podcasts section automatically displays posts tagged with podcast
or #podcast
in a clean grid layout on your homepage. This feature is perfect for publications that produce audio content alongside their written articles. The section displays up to 4 podcast episodes, ordered by featured posts first, then by published date (most recent first). There's a convenient link to the podcasts page in the section heading for easy navigation.

There's a dedicated post template for podcast episodes, with a custom layout and podcast specific information.
Writers & newsletters
The writers & newsletters section showcases your publication's authors and their latest work, helping readers discover new voices and content. This feature also includes an optional newsletters sidebar to promote your email publications.
The section displays up to 4 authors with their latest posts (2 posts per author when newsletters are enabled, 3 posts when disabled). When Show newsletters is enabled, a newsletters sidebar appears alongside the writers, displaying your newsletters in a list with name, description and a link to the newsletters page.

Events
The events section automatically displays posts tagged with event
or #event
in a clean grid layout on your homepage. This feature is perfect for publications that cover events, conferences, webinars, or any time-sensitive content.
Enable the events section in Settings > Design > Theme with the Show events setting. The section displays up to 4 events, ordered by featured posts first, then by published date (most recent first). There's a convenient link to the events page in the section heading for easy navigation.

There's a dedicated post template for events, with a custom layout and event specific information.
Latest posts
The latest posts section displays a list of recent posts when the hero section is set to "featured" mode. This ensures that even when your hero showcases featured content, visitors can still discover your most recent articles.
The section includes a convenient link that directs to the /latest/
page for readers who want to see more recent content. A sidebar with a subscription form is displayed alongside the latest posts, providing an excellent opportunity to capture email subscribers while readers browse your recent content.

Ad banner slots
Gazet includes three predefined ad banner slots that you can configure to add your own ads in three specific areas:
- below the header
- above the footer
- in sidebar areas
The ad banners are smartly configured to only display for non-paid members and visitors, ensuring your paying subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience. Note that ad banners are not displayed on pages, only on posts and the homepage.

Sponsored content
The sponsored content section automatically displays partner content at the bottom of posts and pages. showcasing sponsored posts in a professional, non-intrusive way, can be an alternative method to monetize your publication
The section automatically fetches posts tagged with sponsored
or #sponsored
and displays them in a responsive grid layout (up to 4 posts). It appears on both the homepage and individual post pages, providing consistent exposure for your sponsored content.

Post templates
Gazet comes with 5 custom post templates that can be selected from the Post Settings menu, giving you flexibility in how any post you publish is displayed:
- Full width image — A post template with a full width image
- No image — A post template with no image
- Regular image — A post template with a regular image
- With sidebar — A post template with a sidebar
- Wide image — A post template with a wide image
You can set any of these templates as the default post template for your posts from Settings > Design & Branding > Post > Default post template.




Note
In addition, there are custom settings to center the title and post info, and to enable/disable the drop cap.
Writers & topics
Gazet includes specialized page templates for showcasing your writers and organizing content by topics. These templates can be selected from the Page Settings menu under Template:
- Writers template — Creates a dedicated page to showcase your publication's authors and their latest work
- Topic cards template — Displays all your tags in an organized card layout
- Topic sections template — Combines multiple topics into a single page - just add tags to this page and the theme will automatically create a topic section for each tag



Membership and account
Gazet includes specialized page templates for membership management and sign in/up pages. These templates can be selected from the Page Settings menu under Template:
- Membership template — Creates a dedicated page to showcase your membership tiers and benefits
- Sign in template — Provides a custom sign-in page for existing members
- Sign up template — Offers a branded sign-up page for new members
These templates help you create a professional membership experience with custom branding and clear calls-to-action for converting visitors into members.

Colors and fonts
Gazet makes it easy to customize the colors and fonts of your publication. You can control the following colors from the Brand and Theme Design settings:
- Accent color — A primary color of your publication (brand color)
- Background color — The color of your background
- Text color — The color of your text
- Border color — The color of your borders
You can also control the fonts from Settings > Design > Brand > Typography, with options for both heading and body text. In addition there's an option to set the font weight for headings.

- Ghost Portal - to manage membership, subscriptions and account
- Native search - an easy way to provide a search function within your content (posts, tags, authors)
